Including a bird feeders such as a wild bird feeder, tube bird feeder, or decorative bird feeder in our garden landscapes are vital attracting birds to our backyards. Without the wild bird feeders we place in our gardens, bird lovers would not be able to watch and feel connected to the wild bird around us. It becomes very important to learn the types of bird food our feathered guests enjoy eating. We must fill wild bird feeders with the appropriate seed in order to attract the right crowd. For example, cardinals, blue jays, chickadees, titmice, nuthatches, and some woodpeckers love black oil sunflower seeds. Millet (a small, shiny, roundish golden brown seed) tends to be enjoyed by juncos, buntings, sparrows, finches, and goldfinches. Attracting wild bird with the use of wild bird feeders and the correct types of bird food brings the wonders and joys of nature right in our backyards.
